Gmail’s threading feature is hiding your replies — and you probably haven’t noticed

Gmail groups your emails into threads by default. It seems like a small thing for getting an uncluttered inbox. But that same feature can also quietly bury replies, split conversations you thought were intact, and make you miss an important update. I didn’t notice how much the Conversation view shaped my inbox until I started working for a larger team with near-simultaneous email back-and-forth.
